Manifesto
To wrap oneself in subtle scents is to break free from the ordinary world. One thus leaves vulgar contingencies behind. By letting a singular fragrant presence linger about oneself, one reveals a little of one’s soul and offers a glimpse of other mysteries. The alchemy of a personal scent then becomes a kind of offering to those one holds dear, a silent invitation to a motionless, dreamlike journey that will leave an unforgettable impression.
Confronted with the violence of the Revolution in Paris in 1792, Pierre-François Lubin vowed that one day his perfumes would remedy the ugliness of the world. His elixirs exalted the majesty of a presence, a unique talent that earned him the recognition of crowned heads. Today, the choice of the rarest natural ingredients, and therefore the least available, limits the production of Lubin perfumes. Remaining almost artisanal is what makes it possible to obtain them all in sufficient quantities. A secret shared by only a few thousand initiates across the globe, Lubin perfumes are today the essential adornment of a certain art of living.
Because its hallmark bears witness to age-old knowledge, the House of Lubin has always favoured the noblest ingredients that nature offers us over the artifices of modern chemistry. Unlike couturiers, specialists in finery and ‘artisans of appearance’, Lubin is an ‘artisan of presence’. He enhances the aura of all those who place their trust in him.
